Thank you family, friends, foundation sponsors and community
for helping us have another successful fundraiser. I know I
must've said this over a million times but I will say it
again...we could not have done it without your continued
support. I want to acknowledge and thank Anthony Giaccio and
Robin Pell from the Village of Sleepy Hollow for their part
in ensuring everything goes smoothly at Kingsland Point for
our event. I am extremely grateful, thankful and blessed for
all those who donate, participate and help us raise funds to
ensure we can continue our mission and vision of helping our
youth reach their education goals.
We had a wonderful day as we remembered and celebrated what
would've been Jessica's 24th birthday. To commemorate the
occasion, we had a beautiful butterfly release following a
poem that let us all know that Jessica is always with us in
spirit and in our hearts. The most emotional part of it was
when I released my butterfly and said, "Fly Free Jessi" and
the butterfly started to fly away and then flew back and
perched over my heart for a few seconds before continuing
her flight. I know my girl was letting me know it was all
well with her.
As always we had lots of great food, games, mini golf,
entertainment, and great raffle prizes. Everyone from young
to old enjoyed themselves and even when the rain came down
later in the day, we all huddled in the gazebo for Bingo and
for our grand prize raffle.

It was a wonderful day where family and friends gathered
together to remember Jessica, celebrate what would have been
her 23rd birthday, and raise funds for scholarships. We
walked from Sleepy Hollow High School through the Village of
Sleepy Hollow and ended up at Devries Park where the Family
Fun Day took place. Fun was had by all ages and Jessica once
again, sent us rainbows to let us know she was pleased!

& Million Mom Chapters strive to build awareness
of the impact of gun violence and lobbies for sensible
gun legislation on the city, state and federal levels.

8 young people are killed by gun violence on an average
day in America. 30,000 people are killed per year -
that's the equivalent of a NYC marathon!
§
The gun industry's distribution systems makes guns
available to criminals and juveniles through "straw
purchases" in which a person prohibited by law from
purchasing a gun has another person complete the
required paperwork on their behalf.
§
An everyday altercation can turn into a deadly tragedy.
Come learn how you can get involved and help make a
difference in your community to keep illegal guns off
the streets and out of the hands of youth and
criminals. Gun violence is a serious epidemic that
takes the lives of innocent victims.
