A Sincere
Thank You!
On behalf
of the Jessica N. Santos Foundation, a nonprofit 501c3
organization, I would like to thank all the participants
of the first annual Jessica N. Santos Memorial Walk &
Family Fun Day held on July 22, 2007. Forming the
foundation and planning this event so soon after
Jessica's death was a tremendous undertaking but I felt
in my heart that it was something I had to do. I give
thanks to God for the strength, my family and friends
for their encouragement, contributions, and hard work in
helping me make this dream a reality. I am also
extremely grateful to live and be part of a wonderful
community who opened their hearts to the cause and
generously contributed through sponsorship and in-kind
donation of goods, and gift certificates for the raffle.
I would
like to thank and acknowledge Chief Brown of the
Tarrytown PD, who made sure we had officers on hand to
safely direct the walk route. I'm also grateful to the
Village of Tarrytown and Parks and Recreation for
generously donating the use of Patriot's and Pierson
Parks, the Senior Van, and especially the staff that was
on hand the day of the event to keep the parks clean and
assist us in any way possible. Thanks also to Scott
Weaver and his crew who made sure we had the tree and
plaque planted in time for the dedication that day.
The
event was a very memorable day and a huge success and it
couldn't have happened without everyone's support and
generous contributions. The proceeds from the event
were donated to an endowed scholarship fund that was
established in Jessica's name at the University of New
Haven where she was studying Criminal Investigations. A
$1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a
deserving student at Sleepy Hollow High School and we
hope to increase this throughout the coming years.
We look
forward to your continued support and hope to see more
participation at next year’s event! Thank you and God
bless you.
